What is the MCAT Exam?
The MCAT or Medical College Admission Test is a standardized, multiple-choice exam designed to assess problem solving, critical thinking, and writing skills. It also tests the examinee's knowledge of science concepts and principles that are a prerequisite to the study of medicine. Scores are reported in each of the following four topics: Verbal Reasoning, Physical Sciences, Writing Sample, and Biological Sciences. Most Medical college admission committees consider MCAT scores as part of their admission decision process.

The MCAT is broken down into the following subjects:
Biological Sciences
Tests knowledge of principles and
concepts of biology, chemistry
and organic chemistry.
Physical Sciences
Tests knowledge of and concepts
principles of chemistry and physics.
Verbal Reasoning
Tests the ability to analyze
and evaluate specific passages.
Writing Sample    
Tests ability to organize responses
and compose to specific topics.
